MR. CHOUEKE was once asked if it was more difficult to build a business or to keep it running. “Building something is hard work but it is also exciting and enjoyable. Keeping it going requires patience, perseverance and attention to detail which is, to me, more demanding.” he answered.

Mrs. Choueke whose responsibility it was to keep things in order put it this way:  “Keeping the building in repair, attending to the garden, maintaining the artworks has been both a challenging and a rewarding experience.  It was a good partnership. One builds and the other keeps everything up.” 

The Choueke Family with the help of our friends, associates and the Kobe City government have partnered to handle the preservation and maintenance of this historic site.  It takes the efforts of many to attend to the details and day-to-day tasks.  We hope that you enjoy your visit.  We are honored to receive you as our guests.
